(UPDATE: I missed Markos getting on this, this morning. Linked here. I won't delete this, though, in case anyone missed it)
Hat Tip to Yglesiasfor this one:
Business Week:
What the McCain campaign doesn’t want people to know, according to one GOP strategist I spoke with over the weekend, is that they had an ad script ready to go if Obama had visited the wounded troops saying that Obama was...wait for it...using wounded troops as campaign props. So, no matter which way Obama turned, McCain had an Obama bashing ad ready to launch. I guess that’s political hardball. But another word for it is the one word that most politicians are loathe to use about their opponents—a lie.
So, there you have it. The official position of the McCain campaign is that Obama should have visited the troops in Germany and that he shouldn't have visited the troops in Germany.
That's some, er, "straight talk" there, McCain.
You really can't be too surprised at this, afterall, it is clear what the strategy is - attack Obama for whatever he does and prepared to attack Obama if he does something opposite to that. Just attack Obama, and don't worry about the truthfulness of it.
Anyway, don't expect to see this on the news any time soon. But, DO pass this on to any friends still fretting over the false attacks of the ad that actually DID air.
